TORONTO - A window washer was trapped eight storeys above King St. E. for 25 minutes yesterday, clinging to a rope, after he slipped out of his safety harness while working at the King Edward Hotel. While anxious passersby watched the early-afternoon drama unfold, the man, an employee of JML Window Cleaning, stood precariously on a window ledge until firefighters came to his rescue. When firefighters arrived, they blocked traffic and raised a hydraulic lift to the unidentified man, said District Chief Mike O'Leary. As rescuers rappelled down from the hotel's roof, others stationed themselves in the hotel room beside the man.
