Looking to make a career change.

Hi, I'm glad to have found this site, it makes it easy for those of us looking to make a career change into the fire/emergency field.

I have a couple of questions if anyone could help me out. First, is there an age restriction for applying to the fire department? and if so, what age might that be?....thx

Howdy,

Generally speaking the minimum age for hiring is 18 years old. Most people do not get onto the job until they are in there mid twenties and older because at 18 people usually do not have enough life and work experience.
