We will be holding our first fundraiser next month (golf Tournamnet) and I would like any insight or helpful hints from anyone has undertaken such an event.
Thanks

I know of one department in our county who holds a golf tourny. We have done car washes and breakfasts in the past. Advertising was our main problem. Nobody knew so advertise lots.

Nevada tickets, garage sales, slow pitch tournaments, are things that some of the halls use in my township. Although, Nevada tickets may not be an option in some places!? Slow pitch brought in major BLING BLING for one of the halls and it seems like the rest are following suit......hmmmmmm

Yo,
Sorry bro, I'm not that comfortable getting to specific about whose who. If you recognize the name, you'll know where I'm from, and who it is I'm sure......all by yourself...lol.
Take it easy.

back to fundraising. we are thinking of putting on a casino/games night in the summer. anybody do one of those. it would fake gambling so peple dont get carried away. they would paya flat rate like 25 bucks and get their dinner as well. and it would licensed.

The Likely Fire Rescue is a small but growing group in the cariboo and we do several different things to raise funds. We are a charitable society so we can hold raffles and draws. 50/50's work great and we also put on a music festival. We are just about to put on our third annual Quesnel Forks Gold Nugget Music Festival July 9th, 10th & 11th. You can go to the link and see what we did for our first year and shortly (all going well) I will be putting up the information for this years and last years event. Now something that we do is purchase other departments raffles so that if we win we have a free raffle to put back out to raise funds again. If anyone holding a raffle please contact us so we can help you out as well. We are also holding a horse raffle this year and the winner will walk away with a 3-year old Morgan. (Unbroke & Unstarted) We will also be holding a 50/50 to be drawn at the festival and all going well we will be giving away $2,500.00 so this is well worth $2.00… See you’s at the festival…

There are promotional companies out there that will help you . Our Association teams with our city police to play a charity hockey game and both teams are garunteed $2000.00. This company does all the marketing and provides Ex NHL players to play on both teams as well as Eddie Shack to ref. It is called the battle of the badges and they have a web site if you are interested. It was a great fun raiser and i have never had a better time playing hockey in my life. In the summer we use another promotional company that organizes a rodeo with $ 3000.00 garunteed. All you do is provide your good name and a few firefighters for photo ops. We raise money for underprivlidged children in our city and have been succesfull for over 60 years.

We have hold an annual auction each year. We canvas door to door in our district for items. One Persons Junk Is Another Person Treasure. It is our only Major fundraiser. In a couple of years we had raised enough money to replace our 2500 gpm portable pump.
