Hey everyone,
I recently heard a rumor from a friend of mine on the saskatoon dept. that they are looking at vermillion grads now, because MESC is not taking in students from sask right now? I talked to my chief and he had heard this too, but hes not sure if its true or not. Has anybody heard anything about this? On a different note, are there any saskies on here going to the SVFFA fall school in swift current this year?

Hey landlord,

Welcome to the party!!! I talked to Chief Paulsen.... You know who he is right? I asked which school is preferenced and he said they accept both schools as long as you get all the classes you need. MESC has the full package, where as Fire etc. You have to pick up class 1006 which is required by SFD. Also you get a few extra classes that you don't get in Brandon. Plus the campus has accomadations. Dorms are 100 bucks a month. Anyway the feed back I have been getting from Saskatoon firefighter's is that it's a waste of time. Just see my thread under Vermillion..... in the college section of the site. So I dunno if i'm gonna risk it, although Vermillion is much different to get in and a lot easier to stay there. After I read the what some guys said, I'm kinda shying away from it, but Fire etc. is accepting for April '07.

Anyways if you find out something different let me know, bud. Otherwise it waiting till '08 for Brandon. If I decide on Brandon, I think I'm gonna get my PCP at Kelsey and just do EMT work till '08, then you already have experience, and you don't have to go as long in Brandon.

P.S. Oh yeah, St. John's ambulance can get you your CPR C for 80 bucks.
Your Scuba cert. runs about three hundred, but you can't do your open water this time of year.

See ya.

Hey there bud, ive actually gone in and talked with mr.paulsen about getting in, now that they are accepting vermillion grads it may be a little bit more competitive to get into saskatoon, but thats ok. Ive already got my NCPA 1001(firefighter level 1 and 2), and this fall or in the spring me and a few others are challenging the IFSAC exam, and i was thinking of maybe going south of the border for my PCP if i decide on fire etc. I didnt know kelsey offered it though, you'll have to educate me on that end, lol.

I will be going but I am not sure what I am going to take yet. My room was booked at the beginning of January.
