I am very happy to tell everyone that our fire chief Brian Cumming has agreed to stay on as chief having received a letter from Joan Albright our CAO apologizing for the letter she wrote.
Unfortunately Jeff Tanner our Deputy is still stepping down but will remain on the department.
It is because of the overwhelming support from everyone that this situation worked itself out. ALthough the municipality has decided to not due an internal investigation of the CAO as they had promised, no surprise there, they were finally shamed into doing something.
Unfortunately one of our councillors Mark Davis continues to make inflamitory statements about the firefighters, their spouses and is still trying to say that we made a big deal out of nothing. Unfortunately no one seems to be running against this guy so I am sure he will continue to be a thorn in our side unless he decides that life is too short to be that immature. It disgusts me that someone can be that arrogant to their constituants.
Again I thank everyone for their support and it seems that this situation is finally over.
