We're getting pretty sick of having to constantly remove SPAM messages from the forum, and I'm sure you all are getting tired of having to report them. To resolve the issue we had to implement something that restricts new users. If you have just joined the forum you will not be able to post links to web-sites nor pictures until you have been active for awhile. It's unfortunate that we have to do this but the previous protection didn't catch it all and mis-detected a few legitimate users (people tend to get a little offended when they get a message saying the admins "feel you should be quiet for awhile").

I think everyone will understand code.....
No one likes spammers and that's a pretty good idea, actually, to limit their options when posting.... will probably even deture them from signing up if they know they can't just start posting links all over the place.

Just think of it as a probation period. :D

But how, oh how will I ever find that brand of pornography and medicine to allow me to enjoy it without the spam that I hope for in my firehall site. Especially those with sneaky thread titles.

P.S great idea fellas

ABWell it is going to take a few tries before they realize it isn't going to work for them anymore. They weren't to creative with the member names so I should be able to remove them all at once in a couple weeks when they will undoubtedly give up.

The question is, when one of these spammers hits the forums, does the codeman respond to the firehall.com world domination headquaters with a green light or just his four-ways flashing?
I guess with working online as long as you have an internet connection you are working 24/7

If not, you need a good union.....Being hardheaded by nature, the labour disputes with myself could get interesting. Going on strike wouldn't help much considering I'd be the managment covering for myself.
I guess with working online as long as you have an internet connection you are working 24/7No, I'm just obsessive compulsive.

But look at it this way, you'd be getting OT as a management scab (boo! hiss!) AND strike pay. I tell ya pal you could make a mint!

All the protection in the world can't stop these idiots from getting the odd SPAM message into the forum. I won't get into detail why for security reasons, but it is very important that you never respond to threads started by spammers. Please just ignore the message and report it to us via "report bad post" (top right hand corner of a post).
