Longueuil firefighters may be seeing red over a contract conflict with the South Shore city, but their trucks are now a soothing shade of blue. The 285 unionized firefighters escalated their pressure tactics during the weekend, taking baby blue paint to most of the trucks as well as the windows of some fire stations. For the past two weeks, they have traded in their uniforms for jeans and shorts but union president Denis Dufresne told The Gazette yesterday "there is no question of putting the public at risk" through other measures.
