Most of us at the fire college have visited the Gavenhurst Gentlemen's Club. It started a few month before when we placed orders for t/shirts between 5 stations and they were to have seperate names, unfortunatley a mistake happened. And when the t/shirts arrived there was 150 shirts all with the same name.
No probs, we will simply return them and reorder. Wrong answer, sorry sir we can't... O.K. now what, hey lets do some trading of these shirts, we will take thirty shirts when we attend the college, and ask to trade or if someone wanted to buy a t/shirt.
Should have seen this comming, we sent the class clown on a mission. Da-a-Boy your on your way do a good job and you will be rewarded. So he sold the shirts, to the entire class and teachers and headed out on the town. So there is 20 to 30 guys walking to the club all wearing brand new t/shirts with our name on their backs the ladies at the bar even manage to snag a few shirts, so if your ever in a Gentlemens Club and see a lady wearing a F/Rescue shirt please take note. IT WASN'T ME CHIEF...

Your Chief is so busy he can't find out for himself? I'm sure one quick phone call to the OFM, stating that he's the Chief, he'll get his answer.

Not really a funny, on one visit, the class I was in won $100,000 with 6/49, it was split between 37 people, Took home about $2800 bucks. I really got a lot out of that particular course.

This is a little off topic (imagine that!) but do young folks in Ontario not own phones?? I can't believe how many post on here a simple question that they could have called in faster than the time it took to post!? Hello...college...I have a question for you.....
Sorry, in advance....had to vent...

I can only guess at what that means .... ('cause I'm not hip to computer lingo) ... does it mean what I think it means???

Let it mean whatever you want. Nothing I say on here you approve of, or agree with, so what does it matter?
You seem to know everything about everything. Maybe my Chief is busy and can't call, maybe he is terminally ill and needs help with finding some answers. Maybe he is dumb, deaf and mute. You have no reason or business to question me on why I ask a particular question on here. If you don't have an answer then don't post anything.

Phone the Registrar's office, I believe the ladies name is Tracey. She can give you the info as she is the one who does the billing. Her number is 705-687-9652
From their site :
HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR FIRE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL'S CHANCES OF BEING ACCEPTED ON COURSES:
Fill out application form legibly and completely showing course numbers and start date
Complete a separate application form for each participant for each course
Make sure that each application is approved and signed by the fire chief (or his/her designate)
When applying for a series of courses i.e. CO 101, CO 301, CO 302, the participant must be accepted on the prerequisite course before he/she can be accepted on the remaining courses. In other words, if the CO 101 you applied to is full and their name is placed on the wait list, your applications for CO 301 AND CO 302 are rejected and you must re-apply. To find out which other courses have openings remaining please check our Vacancy List (http://www.ofm.gov.on.ca/english/Education/Firecollege/pdf/VACANCIES%20ON%202006%20-%202007%20CALENDAR%20COURSES.pdf) which is published weekly on our website
If there is documentation required (i.e. copies of licenses, certificates etc.) this documentation must be faxed or sent in at the same time as the application or your application will be rejected.
If you would like to book a space for your department but are uncertain as to whom you plan to send, you may book a "Vacancy". Simply put "Vacancy" in place of the participant's name on the application form. Please notify the Registrar's Office of the name of the participant as soon as possible. Proper documentation and prerequisite requirements will be checked at that time, so ensure that you include the required information. If you have not notified us by ten weeks before the start date you will be contacted and given five days to provide the participant's name. If you fail to do so, your application will be rejected and offered to the next person on the wait list.

And none of your comments ever wasted bandwidth??? I would think that MOST Fire Chiefs would have some knowledge of the OFC from the Coures they took there.

It certainly is, the facility is set on the shores of beautiful Lake Muskoka in the heart of Ontario's Cottage country. It is located in Gravenhurst Ontario. It is sitting on a hill overlooking the lake, and would be a wonderful location for a resort.:)
Picture shows tour boat on the lake in the vicinity of the "Cottage"

Hey Wilderness,
It may have something to do with the cost. I know my chief would not pay for it. The $50 the college is now charging has got him in a tizzy.
