I've got a couple videos that some fellow crew members did up after fire season.

Both videos were shot from helicopters on trips back from a fire near Pierce Bay, BC. It was a 40 minute flight through the Coastal Mountains to Bella Coola. This is our crews favourite spot in BC to go fight fire in. The scenery is awesome and the terrain is challenging to say the least.

This first video is a bit grainy

This second is a better quality

No jet boxes there. We were using A-Stars(West Coast Helicopters) and 407's(E & B Helicopters). We had a jet box on one fire and I got to ride all by myself because of weight restrictions and I'm the smallest guy on the crew.

oh nice i couldnt tell it was a 407 those things are super grnaly... we really should just replace all our intermediates with those, and really we should just scrap all our lights cuz they suck unless u have no gear, no long line, no bucket and light on fuel... then maybe they'll get off the ground with an 1/3 of an IA crew..haha so basically they're a PA machine

407's are old now. E & B Helicopters has already got 417's on order i heard. We'll be able squad of a unit crew up for initial attack now.

UH oh..... im guna be outta biznez soon.. lol.. our standard ride is 2 IA crews in a 212.. just in case they need to double dispatch.. its pretty good times.. lotsa room.. i got stuck in Mackenzie in Sept and we had to use a jetranger.. it was not pretty.. we packed a lot of gear. and the pilot wasnt exactly in good shape if u know what i mean. haha

I like working A-Stars they're nice. Twinstars are even nicer. Blackcomb Helicopters are cool to work with. They just left a movie shoot to come and work with us a fire near Pemberton. I'll have to watch "Shooter" when it comes out in theates to see them.

I also found out what A-Stars are called in Europe the AS 350 Ecureuil.

Ecureuil means Squirrel apparently. HAHAHA, I can't wait for my next flight in one.

Twinstars are heavy and overrated. I would take an A-star B2 or B3 over one anyday. To bad all we ever get up here is Jetboxes, BAs, and 212s.

I got to work with the Lama (THC) out of Nelson last summer. Now that is an IA machine. It out powers a B3 and the pilot is amazing.
