Hey gang.
As many of you know, I teach at our Prov Fire School. Looks like 2007 we'll finally get the EVOC course (Emergency Vehicle Operators Crse) off the ground, with yours truly heading it up. I taught on my first operators crse in the late '80's. Lots has changed, whaaa ?

Anyway, What I'm looking for are some CANADIAN pictures (all others welcome, of course - US - Australia - GB etc) of any emergency vehicle (PD, FD, EMS, DND, etc) mishaps that many of you may have saved. I can blur the departments decals if you so request. I'm looking for anything at all. Roll overs, T-bones, backing incidents especially, little bumps, big bumps, skids, whatever. I'll take 'er all. I already have a fair amount from the US thanks to old contacts and working in the US, but this is a Canadian Crse, run in a Cdn school, so I want to 'bring it home'. I have some recent pic's (within the past ten years) from Montreal, TO, Calgary, etc, so don't worry about repeating a photo, I'll take whatever I can get. Who knows, maybe your copy is better then mine, which would be fantastic ! If you send me a picture, or pictures, please send some sort explanation if you can. These pictures are all going to used as clip art for PPS FOR TRAINING PURPOSES only. I'd really appreciate the assistance. Many thanks in advance.

Haz Pat

Sorry - I guess I should add an email address: sp334268@hotmail.com

Thanks

Have you checked out www.firefighterclosecalls.com (http://www.firefighterclosecalls.com) there are many crash pics on there, a lot of good ones where the truck was used as a blocker. There are also some pics of the Mississauga On Squad which rolled a while ago

Feel free to slide this old picture of mine into your PPS for a little comic relief during what may be...a boring class. ;)

I have a picture of our rolled tanker somewhere - I'll see if I can find it this weekend. I had promised the driver I would never show anyone the picture but this sounds like a noble cause. :D

And I like the comic relief. I gotta admit I have never seen that aerial in the store shot before. That wasn't the same Home Depot that the pumper was stolen from in the spring was it ?? Anyways, thanks again.

Haz Pat

I think that the original picture was of a NY truck that had gone into an apartment building.
I converted the building into a Home Depot and labled the truck with TFS
for our old thread, Toronto Fire Services Truck Stolen. (http://www.firehall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6535&highlight=stolen+truck)

Here's a video clip that you might find useful...(as much as I hate armchair quarterbacking) it's pretty much a clip of how NOT to drive an emergency vehicle, especially around the last corner when you're arriving on scene. I can't believe how close they came to rolling that second rig!!!
