The Alberta Vehicle Extrication Association (AVEA) is pleased to announce Leduc County Fire Services will be co-hosting the 2012 Big Rig H.O.T. Symposium, June 21 and 22, 2012 at the Leduc County Fire Services (Nisku) Station #1.

The Registration Package can be found here... don't delay space is limited to 80 Students ! http://www.bigrighots.albertavx.com/

This learning and hands on training symposium will provide an opportunity for firefighters from all over Canada to witness and participate in extremely complicated large vehicle rescue and extrications. Participants of this symposium will have the opportunity to be involved in four workshops involving complicated stabilization and extrication Techniques that demonstrate: "Cab Extrications", “Under-Runs”, “Overturns”, and “Dealing with Cement Mixers”.

As a result of the Big Rig H.O.T.S. course fire and emergency services personnel and their departments, will benefit from the techniques learned and tools used to improve their rescue skills and ultimately pre-hospital care management.

The 2012 course went very well however the last session saw a little rain. If anyone who took the course this year (or in the past) has any comments please share.

I have heard that next years course (TBD June 2013) appears to be almost full allready!
