Halligan bars! (hoolly bar )

Any of you guys n girls carry these beasts on your trucks Keep trying to get them in London Fire Brigade, but never seem to quite get there, may just buy one myself! Are they as good as they say they are.

A great piece of kit, first thing i grab off the pump, great for UPVC doors, handy for glass management etc, pester your training dpt Gra couldnt rate em high enuf!

We carry the halligan bar in on every call. it is carried with a flat head axe with the blade of the axe fitted inside the forks of the halligan and held together with a carrying strap. the two are great together for forcible entry.

Ahhh! The good ol Hooligan bar! One of the first things in my hand off the truck! Wouldn't go to a call without it.

Definately one of my top 5 tools.

We had an extrication version as that was our speciality.

Basically the same as a regular bar, but rather than having the forked end, it has an end like a can opener. Works great for ripping through sheet metal! We would punch a hole in the sheet metal with the spike and then use the can opener to slice through it and open it up.

A few years back we looked at those multi tooled pry bar/axes, with the extendable handles. They worked out until we broke the one we purchased to use as a demo. After that we stuck with solid handled tools like the Halligan Bar.
