Sunday breakfast is a must. We usually do a meal with everyone on both the day and night shift except for the first day of the shift. Pizza is a staple on the Sat. night of the nights, and Wed. night of the split.

On our 24 hr sunday shift we cook brunch and supper. Other than that it is everyone for themselves. The odd time one of the hunters will be cleaning out their freezer and we will get a feed of venison or something on the Thursday of the day shift.

Yes we cook every day, breakfast lunch and supper. Supper is the big meal of the day, except on Sundays when tradition dictates we cook Turkey complete with Jiggs Dinner, including Pease Pudding, Salt Beef and Cabbage. the firefighters take turns being assigned to the kitchen (for the full 24 hour shift) Each shift has a mess manager who manages the money and the groceries for the meals. All Depts with 24 hour shifts that I know of follow a similar routine

Funny, our breakfasts on Sunday are usually smaller then other days, because we have our big meal at lunch time rather then supper
