Pilot hospitalized in crash near fire

LILLOOET, BC - A pilot is in hospital after a helicopter helping to fight a forest fire crashed in the B.C. Interior on Thursday.
The 61-year-old from Vernon, B.C., was flying the chopper contracted by the B.C. Ministry of Forests to battle the Jade Mountain Wildfire, near Lillooet, B.C.
The pilot's injuries are not yet known, officials said Thursday. The co-pilot, a 27-year-old from Abbotsford, B.C., was taken to hospital in Lillooet and released.
