Fire forces 13 people to flee two homes in southeast Edmonton

[ Back ]

Posted by web-chief on Aug 12, 2013 @ 12:35PM

Snippet:

EDMONTON, AB - Just over a dozen people had to scramble out of a pair of houses in southeast Edmonton when a fire broke out early Monday morning.

The call came in around 1:30AM and, by the time crews arrived on the scene (near 41 Street and 29 Avenue), one structure was fully engulfed in flames. The blaze had also spread to a second building.

"The one home has very extensive damage, that is correct." said EFR District Chief Dennis Hushagem at the scene. "The other home ... the extension is on the siding of course ... from there it went up into the soffets and got into the attic space. Crews made an aggressive interior attack on that home."
