Fire Helmet and Fireworks?

Postby Virgil444_737 » Mon Jul 07, 2014 2:23 pm

I was just wondering, as my department is on stand by during our annual 4th of July firework show, that if a fire-helmet (a Bullard PX) could cover up and withstand a 3' "Mortar Shell" firework detonating beneath it? I found myself asking this question when some of the fireworks malfunctioned. Thanks guys!

If a shell misfires, you won't have time to put a helmet over it.
Never argue with an Idiot. They drag you down to their level, and then beat you with experience!

That is probably one of the dumbest ideas I've ever heard. All you will do is add some nicely splintered plastic to the frag mix exploding outwards at a rapid rate of knots.
