Just a heads up now that Toronto Fire has officially announced its recruitment for 2021, Firehouse Training is running the Largest Virtual Firefighter Hiring and Recruitment Workshop ever held in Canada, this Saturday.

We will have guest speakers and industry professionals speaking specifically to some of the most recent hiring announcements including Toronto, Oakville, Whitby and other future recruitments. Topics covered during this event will include resume and cover letter prep, aptitude test review and mock interview training. Check it out here at www.firehousetraining.ca for anyone interested in participating.

You absolutely will not be considered if you do not have the proper requirements. I guess you could make it as far as the point that HR asks for the certs and as soon as you can’t supply them you’ll be out. I wouldn’t waste your time or theirs. You still have until April to get your OFAI and then apply. Good luck

For all stages (1-3) of the OFAI CTS tests, TFS will accept tests that applicants have passed on or after January 1, 2020, regardless of whether or not it has expired.

Do you think this means as long as it is valid as of January 1, 2020?
All my certs expired during lockdown this year, and trying to get back in is difficult. I know I have until April to apply, but with everything going on, plus Mississauga will be open and require the certs, it's going to be tough.

So for clarity. Your ofai certs needed to expire in 2021. So anything after January 1 2020 you actually completed ofai.

What iv posted below is on the requirements. If your not going to make it in time to get your ofai you can still apply based on what that says. Whether they look at you or not its probably worth a shot.
also stats that the first round will go to anyone who holds all valid certs.

Should a successful candidate not possess any of the required OFAI CTS Certificates at the time of application, as a condition of employment, the candidate will be required to obtain a valid OFAI CTS Certificate at the candidate’s expense within a deadline as determined by TFS
