Do you have a son or daughter, relative or friend who’s looking for a good career in the fire service?
A 2019 fire, security and police career expo and job fair is being held at the International Centre on Airport Road in Mississauga on Thursday, March 7, 2019 for those who are looking to get into the various industries.
The event is sponsored by Fire Fighting in Canada, Canadian Firefighter, Firehall.com, Canadian Security and Blue Line magazines.
This is an opportunity for those who are looking to get into the fire or the other services speak with leaders in the professions.
The event will feature a guest speaker and mentors and leaders who can answer your questions about fire and the other professions, such as how to get into the fire service, what’s needed in the way of courses, education and training, where to find jobs, and how to apply and prepare for an interview. There will also be a number of booths and exhibitors.
On the fire side, there will be a number of mentors in attendance. They include:
• Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs Executive Director Richard Boyes
• Hamilton Fire Department Chief Dave Cunliffe
• Cambridge Fire Department Chief Neil Main
• Milton Fire Department Chief Dave Pratt
• Toronto Fire Service Firefighter Vannetta Tustian who is on the board of Fire Service Women Ontario
• Oakville Fire Department Acting Captain Chad Roberts
• St. Thomas Firefighter Kory Pearn
