Computer Based inspection platform

Postby 3rdGen » Sat Aug 13, 2011 6:58 pm

Our department is looking at catching up with the times and moving away from a carbon copy hand written inspection pad, and at least into the 90's with a computer based system.

Currently we are playing with the iPad and 911toolkit software as a demo for the Chief's, we have their interest...

Now... What are you using, what are the pro's/cons, how did you come to your decision.

we invision using a hand held tablet style device that can cross reference a given address with inspections/ preplans/ previous incidents, as well as load, OG's, contacts, water maps etc. Email/wireless printing capable.

This unit will double as the onboard computer, but be portable to complete inspections.

Thanks for your input!

We use Fire Pro. Not a cheap program but can. E shared with neighbouring departments to lower the cost
Beware of the firefighter who "doesn't need any more training"
