Fire Fighter in America/Canada

Postby Shelvpower » Wed Oct 30, 2013 10:28 am

Hi Guys Im going to cut straight to the chase and ask a quick question.
If im interested in becoming a firefighter in USA or Canada (I currently live in South Africa)
Is there a course that I can do in South Africa to help me to get a job in America
I dont think ill be able to get citizenship in Usa if I do my basic ff course in south africa. Will I be able to go to USA to do my training there and then apply for a job or wont emigrations allow that. Im 17 atm and have maths and science as a subject. Im not really clued up on how the emigration stuff work.
If I do a Btech Degree in Emergency Medical Care in South Africa (4year degree) will that improve my chances to get a job as a ff in USA? According to another forum the Btech degree is more or less the same as your Paramedic course.

unfortunately you won't be able to get a job until you are a citizen of either Canada or USA.
