New to the site, a fellow employee told me about it. Love all the info on here!! I work at Canada's largest refinery on the East Coast as a full time Industrial Firefighter, just started actually. I have however been a volunteer on the brigade for 19 years working in Ops and just recently transitioned over to the fire hall. Our brigade is all volunteer Operations guys with the exception of myself and 3 others that cover shift as the Specialist now (1 for each shift). Just wondering what other refinery's are doing, do you guys all have full time brigades? Or are other refineries set up the same way we are? As the Emergency Response Specialist ( I know, fancy title, lol...), I cover all aspects including: Confined Space Rescue, High Angle Rescue, Medical First Responder and Fire. Are you guys set up in a similar way? What type and size of apparatus are you running?
Looking forward to hearing some stories....
