Explosion, house fire in Markham sends six people to hospital

MARKHAM, ON - The York Regional Police are seeking witnesses and six people have been hospitalized following a house fire in Markham after a reported explosion Tuesday evening.

A man remains in serious condition, while three children and one female were transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Const. Laura Nicolle. They are “believed to be family.”

One YRP officer was also taken to a hospital with minor injuries due to smoke inhalation.
