WINNIPEG, MB - A wall of fire. A wash of water. And then, crawling down a smoke-filled hallway to follow the sounds of someone in need.
The rescue of a man and a woman from a Home Street fire was all in a day's work for firefighters Lt. Gerry Nickel and Ken Proulx.
Early Tuesday, the two firefighters rescued a man and woman from a blaze at a two-storey residence on the 700 block of Home. The fire is believed to have started on its front porch.
