We try to get a minimum of 150 grams of meat (give or take) per guy for sandwiches that we may be making (turkey, corned beef for reubens etc.) If we're making something bigger, like a burger, a meatloaf, some sort of steak, our rule of thumb is one pound of meat per guy.
If I'm buying steaks for the 10 guys at my hall for dinner, I'll usually get three of those club sized packs from Safeway, thats usually 12 to 15 good sized steaks, so everyone will get a steak and a bit. I think those are usually about 1.5 to 2kg per pack, so thats like 12 pounds of meat, or 1.2 pounds a guy.
Really it's a lot easier to figure out than it sounds...just shop until you have more than you think you'll need, and you should just have enough
